Hon. Rosalyn Denise Myers

Hon. Rosalyn Denise Henderson-Myers is a distinguished attorney and Democratic member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 31 in Spartanburg County since her election in 2017. Born and raised in Spartanburg, she is the daughter of Roberta Henderson and the late Roy Henderson.

Henderson-Myers earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina in 1978 and her Juris Doctor from Tulane University in 1993. Her extensive legal career includes roles such as Assistant District Attorney in various jurisdictions, District Court Judge in Alabama’s 28th Judicial Circuit, and Special Counsel at Haynesworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A. She currently practices law with the Henderson Law Group.

Before her tenure in the state legislature, Henderson-Myers served on the Spartanburg City Council from 2015 to 2017. In the House, she is a member of the Judiciary Committee and serves as Secretary of the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus. In 2022, she was part of a 12-member ad hoc committee that held public hearings on House Bill 5399, which sought to ban abortions.

Throughout her career, Henderson-Myers has been recognized for her dedication to public service and advocacy. In 2023, she was honored at a White House event for her efforts in passing lactation legislation, and in 2024, she was named a USA Today Woman of the Year for her work to improve the lives of women.

Henderson-Myers was married to Kenneth E. Myers Sr., who passed away in 2023. She remains actively involved in her community and continues to advocate for her constituents in Spartanburg and beyond.
